If you want to study further, and don't wish to join this programme, I can offer established practitioners a 'research and evidence certificate' which is designed to help you work up a case study or literature search for publication. For many people, this is a daunting process, but we will give you the education and guidance for this is you prefer that pathway.  Please see the separate 'certificate in research and evidence' tab/page in the main menu.  Sorry, there is no discount for this as it s quite a lot of work for me to support individual practitioners in that programme!

YOU CAN'T COME TO THE PRACTICALS UNLESS YOU ARE ENROLLED IN THE CERTIFICATE / ONLINE PROGRAMME FIRST.

IF YOU HAVE PREVIOUSLY BOUGHT THE MOTHER AND INFANT ONLINE PROGRAMME FROM OSTEOBITESIZE ( A SMALLER VERSION OF THIS CERTIFICATE) YOU CAN TOP UP FOR £425, AND YOU CAN SEND THIS DIRECT TO MY PAYPAL ACCOUNT AT carolinestone@outlook.com

Welcome to the information page for the proposed Certificate of Paediatric Osteopathy in Israel.

This programme is being offered to the profession in Israel, with a group bulk discount pending sufficient numbers.  The current UK costs for this programme (excluding the clinics is £900).  The bulk discount would be £650  based on 15 enrolments.  The clinical and practical intensives are extra, and are likely to be around £500 per person, but this is not settled and more information will be available at a later date. Any practicals and clinics would be held in Israel, venue to be confirmed  (Tel Aviv / Jerusalem), and dates to be confirmed.  Any reference to costs and specific dates should be ignored, as they apply to the Bristol UK version of the programme.

It is anticipated that enrolments must be completed by 1 September 2022 and the programme would start in October, and finish in approximately July 2023.

STANDARDS OF THE PROGRAMME

This is a programme for qualified osteopaths to develop their awareness of paediatric and maternal care, and to provide a robust, advanced, detailed and evidenced programme about osteopathic approaches in these fields.

This is an advanced level progamme and so is open only to those with sufficient training and background.

Acceptable qualifications include those meeting Recognised Qualification Status in the Uk (GOsC Standards)

European Qualifications that meet CEN standards, and allow registration / membership of the organizations under the EFFO umbrella.

Australasian Qualifications that meet the standards of the OBA and the OCNZ.

Other qualifications may be accepted if there is also a portfolio of training evidence to support equivalence of knowledge, skills and attitudes required for practice. This is a vetted category.

You do not need experience in the cranial concepts of the involuntary mechanism, as this course focuses on general gentle osteopathic approaches, and is not a teaching platform for cranial.  It is a teaching platform for osteopathy in the paediatric care and care of the mum during pregnancy and the initial post partum period.  Paediatrics does not equal cranial, and although this course will be an excellent programmre to underpin your practice if you do use this modality, it is important to analyse other approaches that interact physiologically and physically, as well as emotionally and interoceptively with mother and child.

The CNMO offers a range of programmes and offers a hybrid format - with online learning at home, supported by zoom meetings and Q and A's. This programme will be in two parts - the online supported learning, plus an opportunity to participate in the hands on practical intensive and clinical observation block in Israeli (venue, separate costs and exact timings to be confirmed at a later date).

There are 9 months of intensive lectures to cover, group chats to interact with and various assessments to complete (3 different styles of essay, an initial and a final learning needs analysis).

The practical components are assessed through continuous assessment during the practical lectures, and the clinical observations are assessed by peer observation and a clinical diary.

This is set at a high standard and is, we believe, equivalent to a level 7 masters programme, and the learning objectives and competencies are set accordingly. The programme is internally validated though and is not recognised for general university credit exchange programmes, and does not provide a registration qualification for practice in eg the UK or elsewhere.

What it does provide though is an advanced level credentialing to highlight a great level of competence and awareness i the osteopathic care of and children. This helps the public and other health professionals identify those with higher level training.

PLEASE NOTE: THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION HAS BEEN ADAPTED FROM THE BRISTOL (UK) MATERNAL AND INFANT CARE CERTIFICATE -WHICH THE ISRAELI PROGRAMME WOULD BE BASED ON

This pictogram gives some insight into the range of topics covered in the mother and baby programme.  Check out the brochure also, and the notes below for further details dates of the Friday clinics, venue, costs and so on.

This programme is highly focused on the maternal experience, the evidence base for osteopathy ion pregnancy and initial post partum care, in breastfeeding and in infant dynamics.

Infant sleep unsettledness, feeding, colic, and comfort / wellbeing issues are hugely important considerations, as many practitioners are sought out for helps with these issues.  Supporting the new family unit, and the mum on her journey towards this is a very special component of osteopathic scope,. and this programme covers all essential elements in a highly focused, evidenced and osteopathic philosophical perspective.  You do NOT need involuntary mechanisms skills for this programme and it is incredibly important to realise that paediatrics does not equal 'cranial' and that there is more to the infant than its sphenoid, and there are more factors that determine molding, autonomic tone, visceral function and so in in the infant than the dural functionality or a primary respiratory mechanism.  These elements are discussed but alternatives are given, which enables you to understand how osteopathic interactions are really working, and how you can put things together to construct evidence informed care plans across a range of presentations.

You will get instruction into a wide range of examination and assessment protocols for mum and baby, and you will be given the clinical tools to gently interact with the maternal and infant dyad, so that they can support each other better and can both recover and also move forwards in as positive and healthy dynamics as possible.
