This is a special year long programme designed to help you organise research and evidence around your chosen interest.

Your prior taught programmes, clinical experience and self- enquiry / searching will already have given you an overview of the evidence in practice, but you want MORE!

This programme will be excellent development for mentoring peers and guiding associates in clinic., and will significantly enhance your professional journey.

PICK YOUR OWN TOPIC TO DEVELOP AND EVIDENCE FRAMEWORK FOR - YOU CAN RESEARCH ANY AREA - YOU CHOOSE!

You will already be an experienced practitioner in either paediatrics, or women's health for example, may already have other post graduate qualifications, but, need a lot more guidance about current evidence.  You may have particular case queries, and approaches you want to evidence, and you want a detailed approach to gathering evidence, literature searches and similar, and want to be supported in that journey. You want to learn more about how to critique papers, summarise research, identify gaps and other dynamics, and to be familiar with making an evidence informed communication or management plan.. You may also want to work up documents, website content, proposals and similar, and need a lot more grasp of the literature to support your work.  There is no formal lecture programme about e.g. paediatrics but you will get access to compilations of evidence focused to your area of enquiry, a lot more insight and worked examples into the evidence in support of practice, outcomes measures and other information relevant to practice. There are prepared tutorials / online resources to get you going for you to use.

You will supply a question or area you want to explore.  You will get guidance in literature searching, help with collating and critiquing evidence, you will learn what the research does and doesn't say, and you will be mentored through your evidence journey. - and all you need to is frame a question.  You will also get help with this if needed.  You will get regular meetings, monthly zoom calls and and an interactive platform with shared documents.  Guidance on research methods / search strategies is also given.  The College uses Endnote and Nvivo, and will help you with the mechanics of analysing the science.

STEP ONE: APPLY

STEP TWO: after enrolment HAVE MEETING AND THEN AGREE / CREATE LEARNING QUESTIONS  - e.g. osteopathy and plagiocephaly, osteopathy and endometriosis, osteopathy and irritable bowel and osteopathy and autism...the topic is up to you!

STEP THREE: START SUPPORTED LEARNING, WORKING AND RESEARCHING.

We will keep you on track and ensure you get answers to your questions - and get you learning about what the science does or doesn't say currently!
